Recall – Comarco Power Adapters for Laptops

Comments Off

A voluntary recall of laptop adapters has been announced by Comarco Inc. due to faulty wiring that can cause the connector tips to melt, posing a burn hazard to consumers.

The recall involves Targus Universal Wall Power Adapters for Laptops with the following SKU Numbers: APA23US-02, APA23US-03, APA23US-04, APA63US-03, APA63US-04, APM62US-03 and APM62US-04.

The company has received 518 reports of the connector tips heating. Eight consumers reported a hand or fingertip burn. No medical attention was needed.

The recalled adapters were sold from June 2009 through March 2010. They were available nationwide at Best Buy and Walmart stores among others.

Consumers should stop using the recalled adapters and contact the company for a free replacement. Call Comarco toll-free at (877) 781-5186 or visit www.regcen.com/comarcorecall.

The recall was conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
